About Bayer Foundations International Fellowship Program 2019:

Bayer Foundation is offering this fellowship. Its goal is to support the next generation of researchers and teachers as they engage in “Science for a Better Life”. The Bayer Foundation is inviting applications from graduate students and apprentices in scientific and medical disciplines for Bayer Foundations International Fellowship Program 2019. The fellowship program consists of five scholarship programs namely, Otto Bayer Fellowship, Carl Duisberg Fellowship, Jeff Schell Fellowship, Kurt Hansen Fellowship & Hermann Strenger Fellowship that offer tailored financial support of up to EUR 20,000 per request, in different areas of study.

 

Bayer Foundations International Fellowship Program 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

Students fulfilling the following criteria can apply:

  • The applicant must have completed his graduation degree in areas of science or medicine.
  • The applicant must have completed the graduation, not more than two years ago.
  • Students and young professionals from Germany wishing to realize a study or research project abroad OR foreign students/young professionals pursuing a project in Germany can apply.

Awards and benefits:

The foundation will provide tailored financial support to the elected project of up to EUR 20,000 per request.

To apply for the scholarships under this fellowship program, follow these steps:

Documents required for the Bayer Foundations International Fellowship Program 2019:

The following application documents are required for the Otto Bayer ScholarshipCarl Duisberg ScholarshipJeff Schell Scholarship, and Kurt Hansen Scholarship:

  • Confirmation letter from the foreign host institute/university on the planned project from September 2019 to August 2020
  • A description of the project (duration of 2-12 months) with a financial plan within the timeline of September 2018 to August 2019. The project can consist of special study courses, laboratory assignments, research projects, summer classes, internships, Masters or PhD programs.
  • Most recent transcripts 
  • Any additional documents that would enhance the application
  • Job application photo (no photo of your passport, please)
  • Updated CV 

For the Hermann Strenger Scholarship, applicants must submit the following:

  • Confirmation letter from the foreign host institute/university on the planned project from September 2019 to August 2020
  • Most recent transcripts with good to excellent grades
  • A description of the project (duration of 2-12 months) with a financial plan. The project can consist of
    special study courses, laboratory assignments, research projects, summer classes or internships
  • Job application photo (no photo of your passport, please)

 

Bayer Foundations International Fellowship Program 2019 Selection criteria:

It’s a merit-based scholarship. The project to be supported must be innovative and international.

Application opening date- June 1, 2019 
Application closing date- July 14, 2019

 

 

Terms and Conditions

Bayer Foundation is offering these fellowships to students and young professionals who are looking for opportunities to work outside their home country. Bayer Foundation is providing five scholarships for different streams of work.

  • Otto Bayer Scholarship – applicants from study areas of biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, and computational life sciences can apply for this scholarship.
  • Carl Duisberg Scholarship – applicants from study areas of human and veterinary medicine, medical science, medical engineering, public health, and health economics can apply for this scholarship
  • Jeff Schell Scholarship – applicants from study areas of agro sciences, digital farming, agronomy, crop sciences, green biotechnology, environmental sciences, and sustainability can apply for this scholarship.
  • Kurt Hansen Scholarship – Student teachers in biology and chemistry (up to Master’s degree level) can apply for this scholarship.
  • Hermann Strenger Scholarship – Young Professionals and Apprentices in a non-academic profession can apply for this scholarship.Key focus areas for this scholarship are careers in healthcare, technical or scientific occupations, business administration.
